2008 Richmond, Va. Road Meet Trip
July 2008
Day 5

These photos are from my trip to the Richmond, Va. road meet in July 2008. This trip combined the actual journey to Richmond with a multi-day county-collecting and sightseeing trip through Virginia and North Carolina. These are photos from the fifth day of the trip. The 216 photos are spread out over three pages of thumbnails. Use the arrow buttons in the upper left corner of the page to navigate the thumbnail pages. To view the full-sized photos, click on one of the thumbnails on this page. You will then be presented with navigation controls to view the images on individual Web pages as a slide show.

This group of photos begins on VA 156 at I-64.

Heading west on I-64 toward downtown Richmond.

Clearview.

Why would criminal offenses have a smaller fine than traffic infractions?

This should be US 33, not VA 33.

This interchange was the focal point of the Richmond road meet.

A short jaunt on VA 288 south to the first exit.

On US 250 heading east toward Short Pump and Richmond.

Back to I-64.

On I-64 eastbound.

On this trip I passed through three NASCAR speedway cities -- Bristol, Martinsville and Richmond -- which are NASCAR's three remaining short tracks.

On the I-64/I-95 duplex.

The I-64/I-95 interchange as seen from southbound I-95.

Now going south on I-95.

The massive ramps for the VA 895/VA 150 interchange as seen from southbound I-95. The high ramps are necessary to allow VA 895 to bridge the James River and allow enough room for tall ships.

Another view.

Now heading north on VA 288.
