Upper Delaware (Milford, PA) Road Meet Trip

Day 3 (NY-PA-NJ)

These photos are from my trip to the Upper Delaware Valley road meet held in Milford, Pa. on Feb. 21, 2009. This page is Day 3 of the trip, through New York, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and also includes photos relating to the meet and the tour associated with the meet. The 267 photos are spread out over three pages of thumbnails. Use the arrow buttons in the upper left corner of the page to navigate the thumbnail pages. This tower of signs was located right outside my motel in Middletown.

Heading west out of Middletown on I-84.

I-84 is maintained by the NY Thruway Authority and these mile markers are posted along the length of the road.

These increment markers with the I-84 shield on them are common, as well.

Heading down into the Delaware valley.

In the distance you can see the I-84 on the other side of the Delaware, in Pennsylvania.

Approaching the last exit in NY, with a NJ 23 shield.

And another example of a New York state marker being used in place of a New Jersey marker.

At the end of the ramp from I-84 to US 6 and US 209.

At one time this was part of US 206, but no longer. the US 206 junction is just a bit south of here.

These are better photos than those from the night before.

It doesn't cost to enter NJ, but it costs to leave.

Some work is being done on the bridge.

Looking downstream on the Delaware.

Now in New Jersey.

How nice -- a sign goof not far from the state line!

The button copy sign here appears similar to the ones on the PA side of the river.

Nice old button copy.

I had the hardest time getting a photo of this PA 209 error.

Now on the meet tour heading toward Matamoras and Port Jervis.

Mile 400 on US 6 in Matamoras.

The bridge to Port Jervis, NY.

Another look at the US 6 bridge across the Delaware.

On the bridge.

In New York. Isn't that a classic-looking US 6 sign?

Underneath the I-84 bridges, getting ready to visit the Tri-State Rock. This is looking toward Pennsylvania.

Dylan Lainhart on the marker. His left hand is in New York, his right hand is in New Jersey and his butt is in Pennsylvania.

Looking toward the New York side of the Delaware.

Backon US 6 heading west.
