Oklahoma City Road Meet Trip
June 24-29, 2009
Day 6 (Southern Kentucky)

These photos are from my trip to the 2009 Oklahoma City road meet held June 26-27, 2009. These photos are from the sixth day of the trip and are from the southern tier counties of Kentucky, mostly the KY 80/US 68 corridor and related routes from Mayfield to London. Thumbnails for the 470 photos span four pages. Use the arrow buttons in the upper left corner of the page to navigate the thumbnail pages. To view the full-sized photos, click on one of the thumbnails on this page. You will then be able to view the images on individual Web pages.

The final day of the trip, heading east out of Mayfield.

The current four-lane KY 80 ends outside Murray. The link between KY 1836 and US 641 is under construction. In the meantime, KY 80 traffic has to detour to KY 121.

North on US 641 for a short distance.

Four-lane KY 80.

Looking toward the intersection of KY 80 and US 68.

Crossing Kentucky Lake.

In Land Between the Lakes, where US 68/KY 80 is being widened.

Crossing Lake Barkley.

Now we will get to see how many ways that the US 68/KY 80 combined route can be signed across southern Kentucky. This is the one post method.

The two-post method.

The one-post wide-spread method.

The "one banner, wide-spread method."

This style seems to be gaining popularity.

A comeback by the two-post style?

Back to this method.

And there's the "forget about KY 80" method, which also happens frequently.

The "two posts with a connector rod" style.
