SE Pennsylvania/Mid-Atlantic/Midwest trip
June 16-21, 2010
Day 2 (Thursday, June 17)

These photos are from my trip to the Southeast Pennsylvania road meet and my jaunt through the Mid-Atlantic region and into the Midwest in June 2010. Photos are from Virginia, Maryland and Delaware. Thumbnails for the 667 photos span seven pages. Use the arrow buttons in the upper left corner of the page to navigate the thumbnail pages. Day 2 of the trip started out on US 17 in Fredericksburg, Va., with this vehicle height warning sign.

State-named I-95 sign.

Workers were in the process of erecting an overhead behind this temporary sign.

Heading south on US 17 for a short distance.

Crossing the Rappahannock River on US 301.

US 301 has these mile markers. Not sure what the "0" point is.

I crossed this intersection on VA 3 back in 2008.

Crossing the Potomac River.

See the toll plaza in the distance. Only southbound traffic has to pay a toll.

For some reason, the guide signs along many of Maryland's surface four-lane highways are located on the left, in the median.

Now off US 301.

Approaching a roundabout (ugh.)

Heading toward Point Lookout.

Scotland, Md., is a small farming community with no sign of an actual town. It's the hometown of former Kentucky basketball coach Tubby Smith.

After turning around at the entrance to Point Lookout State Park, now heading north on MD 5.

Back at the Scotland PO.
