Beattyville, KY to Nashville, TN and return

These are photos from my trip to the Nashville roadgeek meeting held Feb. 26, 2005 at the Gerst Haus restaurant. For a photo of the actual meeting participants, see Pete Jenior's Roadgeek Meeting Page.

Advance signage at the end of the Hal Rogers Parkway for the intersection of the parkway, KY 80 and US 25.
Signage at the intersection, with the Hal Rogers Parkway 0 mile marker visible.
View of bridge under construction at the time on KY 90 near Burnside, crossing Lake Cumberland. The bridge has since been completed and opened to traffic, and the old bridge is being demolished.
Junction of US 127 and KY 696 south of Albany.
Junction of US 127 and KY 1076 and TN 111 near Static. The right post used to carry TN 111 and TN 42 signage but the Tennessee route markers are missing and TDOT has not seen fit to come the few feet north into Kentucky to replace the TN 111 signs. The route used to be TN 42 but was renumbered TN 111.
Signage at the intersection of US 127 and KY 1076, with a green destination sign showing Byrdstown as a destination for TN 111.
Signage at the intersection of US 127 and TN 111 with a corner of the Tennessee Welcome Sign in the background. Older signage at this intersection can be seen on my Static page.

Advance exit signage for US 231 on I-40. Lebanon bills itself as the antique capital of the south and the town square (intersection of US 231 and US 70 business route) is lined with antique stores.
Exit signage at US 231 exit on I-40 westbound.
Advance exit signage for TN 840 on westbound I-40. TN 840 is an outer bypass of Nashville currently being built in sections. Once completed, it will be renumbered I-840.
Exit signage for TN 840 with control cities of Chattanooga and Huntsville listed. These are the control cities for I-24 and I-65 respectively, and since these two routes intersect TN 840, they are listed here.
Signage at the ramp from I-40 to TN 840.
West TN 840 marker.
Exit signage for TN 265. This is interesting for two reasons. First is that this Tennessee secondary route is located not too far from the former I-265, which was eliminated in downtown Nashville a few years ago. Second is that the ramp goes to the right but the exit tab is located on the left side of the sign.

Signage at Exit 38, featuring a redundant signage for "Nolin Lake Reservoir." Either "Nolin Lake," "Nolin River Lake" or "Nolin River Reservoir" would have been correct, but "Nolin Lake Reservoir?"
