It actually runs northbound into Kentucky, where it is variably signed "north-south" or "east-west" If you continue on 160 to its terminus in Knott County, Ky., signs will indicate you are traveling west (in Wise County, Va.), north (in Harlan and Letcher counties in Kentucky) and then east (in Knott County, Ky.)
