The AA highway originally ended here and KY 8 was originally numbered KY 10. The AA Highway transitioned from the new alignment to the old KY 10 alignment here. When the Greenup and Grayson forks were finished, old KY 10 between Vanceburg and South Shore was renumbered KY 8.
