2008 Richmond, Va. Road Meet Trip
July 2008
Day 3

These photos are from my trip to the Richmond, Va. road meet in July 2008. This trip combined the actual journey to Richmond with a multi-day county-collecting and sightseeing trip through Virginia and North Carolina. These are photos from the third day of the trip. The 607 photos are spread out over seven pages of thumbnails. Use the arrow buttons in the upper left corner of the page to navigate the thumbnail pages. To view the full-sized photos, click on one of the thumbnails on this page. You will then be presented with navigation controls to view the images on individual Web pages as a slide show.

This set of photos starts out heading north on Bypass US 17 in Elizabeth City, NC.

This is how US 17 appears heading north in the early daylight hours.

And yet another new county in North Carolina on this trip.

Approaching the Virginia state line.

The first US 17 sign in Virginia. Unusual that there's no mileage sign beneath it.

A bear crossing in the Great Dismal Swamp area?

Now heading east on US 460.

Unisignage.

Nice US 337 sign goof on this unisign.

Unisignage with white-background shields.

This sign has errors. The "East" and "West" signage atop the US 460 signs is in error. Eastbound US 460 actually goes straight here.

For my wife, who loves giraffes.

Odd font in these I-64 signs.

Approaching the end of US 460, for which signage can be seen in the background.

Looking back on eastbound US 60 is this error sign. That's an interstate shield instead of a US route or Virginia state route shield.

Heading east on I-64 around the freeway loop of the Hampton Roads area.

Lots of Clearview can be found along I-64.

This is overhead signage on the HOV lanes.

Heading east on I-264 toward Virginia Beach. This is an unusual street name.

This is the end of I-264.

At US 60 -- "the box" is the area inside the intersection.

Now heading west on US 58. This is the first US 58 sign and that route is not marked from westbound US 60.
