Pretty fall view of I-77 south beetween Silverton and Ripley.

Another view of I-77 heading south.

Coming up on I-79 at Charleston.

The "Straight Talk Express" was stuck in traffic on I-64 west between the two Kanawha River bridges in Charleston.

With the opening of the new portion of US 35, the old route is now WV 817, as shown on this overhead sign.

This signpost was erected for a US 35 sign to be added, but now that US 35 is to be truncated at the new Exit 40, there will be no overlap of I-64 and US 35.

On the day this picture was taken (10/10/08) the new section of US 35 was dedicated. Workers were removing the greenouts from signs that had been up for several months after the dedication ceremony and the road's official opening.

This sign seems a little odd, since this is the new terminus of US 35, but the route is actually signed beyond I-64 south to CR 33 (Teays Valley Road) which runs parallel to I-64 in this area.

The new US 35 is open only to WV 34; work is progressing beyond this exit.

US 35 will be temporarily routed onto WV 34 until the new section is completed.

This will be the ramp from WV 34 to northbound US 35.

Signage has not been changed at the WV 34/US 35 intersection in Winfield. The route is still shown as US 35 instead of WV 817.

Now heading north on WV 817 (old US 35) and there's this older WV 34 sign to be seen.

Back at the new US 35 interchange on WV 34 south.

According to the signage, US 35 doesn't end until the CR 33 intersection, but for all intents and purposes, it ends at I-64.

A closeup shot of the End US 35 sign.

Looking east on Teays Valley Road.

Heading north on new US 35.
